The Creighton men’s basketball team hit the court on Saturday night to open Missouri Valley Conference play. They overcame the physical conditions on the court to get an 87-70 win against the Evansville Purple Aces.
Doug McDermott led the way with 29 points and 10 rebounds. Gregory Echenique joined the double-double party with 13 points and 13 rebounds of his own. The Bluejays as a whole outrebounded Evansville 43-27.
