Men's Basketball

Media Menu: Creighton Men’s Basketball vs. Cincinnati (NCAA Tournament 2nd Round)

The Creighton Bluejays men’s basketball team heads into a second straight NCAA Tournament by traveling to Philadelphia to take on the Cincinnati Bearcats on Friday afternoon. The Jays are hoping for an extended stay out east, but the Bearcats pose a big challenge.

If you are not headed to Philly to watch the Jays in person (Joey Tempo is; follow his WBR Twitter account all weekend), here are the ways you can follow the approximate 1:45 p.m. tip on Friday no matter where you are.

Television:

The complete NCAA Tournament will be broadcast on four channels — CBS, TBS, TNT, and TruTV. Creighton’s game against the Bearcats will be broadcast on CBS. Kevin Harlan, Len Elmore, and Reggie Miller will be on the call.

  • In Omaha, you can find the game on Cox channel 5, or in glorious HD on 1005.
  • For satellite owners, you can find CBS on Dish Network and DirecTV in your local market.
  • To find the CBS channel in your area, use this link and use the channel finder on the bottom right side.

Online:

  • All games of the NCAA Tournament can be watched online in pretty much any way possible. If you have cable and/or satellite and subscribe to TBS, TNT and TruTV, then you can watch all of the games for free through their online websites whether on your computer or a mobile device. Here is the link to use.

  • Follow the tweets of GoCreighton for score updates.
  • Follow the tweets of Steve Pivovar from the Omaha World-Herald for insight during the game.
  • Follow the tweets of Bluejay Banter as they will be in Philadelphia as well as hosting a viewing party at the Omaha downtown DJ’s Dugout.
  • Follow tweets all in one place with our Creighton Timeline list.
  • Listen to the streaming audio of the broadcast by DialGlobal available online here.   By NCAA contract they are the only ones that can webstream the audio of the games, so AM 590 audio will not be available over the web.
  • You can also pick up the games through your mobile device using the Slacker Radio app. Details here.  You may also use the TuneIn app.

Radio

  • If you find yourself traversing the greater Midwest — specifically, the eastern part of Nebraska, Iowa, and even into Missouri — you can pick up T. Scott Marr’s play-by-play along with former Bluejay Nick Bahe on AM 590, Omaha’s ESPN Radio.
  • To get the Cincinnati side of things, you can pick up the game on 700 WLW  AM on your dial.  The station’s 50,000-watt signal can project  Bearcat games to 38 states and a third of Canada,
  • You can pick up the DialGlobal broadcast of the game on SiriusXM Satellite Radio on Channel 85.  Scott Johnson and John Thompson will be on the call.
