December 22, 1989 — Bob Harstad makes 17 free throws against Morgan State, the second highest single-game total in Creighton history.

Harstad attempted 20 free throws in the 84-69 win against Morgan State. Two weeks earlier, in a game against Cleveland State, Harstad had recorded a career-high 15 free throws (on 17 attempts). One week earlier, he made 14 free throws against Nebraska. And later in the 89-90 season, he would make 15 free throws in one game again (at Southern Illinois).

Harstad’s 89-90 season stands as the single best for a Bluejay at the charity stripe. The junior made 218 free throws that season, surpassing Elton Tuttle’s previous record of 215 from the 1953-1954 season.
