January 29, 1970 — Creighton beats #5 New Mexico State before the biggest crowd in Omaha Civic Auditorium history.

Playing in front of a record 11,214 Bluejays fans, first-year head coach Eddie Sutton leads Creighton to 72-68 upset over the Aggies.

The win against the #5 ranked opponent was the second largest upset in school history, ranking-wise. In 1963, the Jays defeated #4 Arizona State 84-83.
