Creighton Basketball Adds Kennesaw State to Schedule

Dates continue to trickle out for the Creighton men’s basketball team. The Kennesaw State Owls released their schedule for their 2010-11 campaign and it includes a trip to Omaha during Thanksgiving Week to take on the Bluejays.

The game, scheduled for Friday, November 26, is the final piece of the Multi-Team Event organized by Iowa State and Creighton along with Northern Arizona and Alabama State.

Kennesaw State moved to Division I basketball in 2005 after winning the 2004 Division II National Championship. The Owls were 13-20 last season and finished 8th in the 11-team Atlantic Sun Conference, ahead of current transition schools South Carolina Upstate and Florida-Gulf Coast. The Owls posted an RPI of 274 last season.

Kennesaw State is located in Kennesaw, Georgia, which is about 25 miles northwest of Atlanta. The school, founded in 1963, opened in 1964 as Kennesaw Junior College. It became a four-year college in 1976 and today has an enrollment of more than 22,000 students.

As part of the Multi-Team Event, Kennesaw State will visit Alabama State on November 20 and host Northern Arizona on November 22. Then the Owls hit the road, visiting Iowa State on November 24 and then Omaha on November 26. As part of this MTE, Creighton will play Iowa State on November 21 at the Wells Fargo Center in Des Moines.
