Media Menu: Creighton @ Drake

Northern Iowa put an end to Drake’s 5-game winning streak on Wednesday night. It is hard to tell if that is a good thing or a bad thing. The Bulldogs will host the Bluejays at the Knapp Center Saturday night, in what is sure to be an interesting battle. Creighton is riding a bit of momentum, while Drake looks to regain some of its own.

At White & Blue Review, we want to make sure you are always aware of the different media at your disposal for keeping track of every Bluejays game, home and away. If you can’t make the short 2-hour trip down I-80 to watch the game in person, there are several broadcasts and media ways to catch the game anyway.

Television

The game will be broadcast by Omaha’s local CBS station KMTV, otherwise known as Action3 News. Travis Justice and Nick Bahe will have the call.

If you still have the rabbit ears on your TV, it is available over the air in the metro and surrounding areas.

For those with cable systems, it is available on Cox channel 5 or 705 (but no HD) in the Omaha metro. In Lincoln and other surrounding Time Warner Cable outlets in Nebraska stretching as far west as York and as far south as Fairbury and Nebraska City, it is available on TWC channel 3.

On satellite with DirecTV and Dish Network, those with the Omaha DMA will have it on their local CBS channel which is KMTV.

Those with old style satellites can try these coordinates:

  • Galaxy 16 K6 6A Digital
  • U/L – 14.104.13H
  • D/L – 11.804.13V

The game will also be available to Mediacom Cable customers across the state of Iowa on Channel 22.

Online

There are several ways to follow the game via the Internet:

  • You can listen to the audio online at Big Sports 590 in Omaha.
  • Keep up with the Live Stats from GoCreighton.com.
  • Streaming video will be available through Drake’s True Blue on D-Pack. Subscribers to Creighton’s annual or monthly pass on www.gocreighton.com should have the Drake game added to their subscription and be able to receive the video feed at no additional cost thanks to an agreement between Creighton and Drake.
  • Or for a different perspective you can follow the action on Drake’s online radio broadcast on the KRNT radio website.

Radio

If you find yourself traversing the greater Midwest — specifically, the eastern part of Nebraska, Iowa, and even into Missouri — you can pick up T. Scott Marr’s play-by-play along with Kevin Sarver on Big Sports 590 AM.

If you happen to be on the road through Nebraska into Iowa and lose the 590 signal as you get closer to Des Moines, you can pick up the Drake broadcast on KRNT Radio (1350 AM) the flagship station of Drake Basketball.

As always, if you have other media entities to add to follow the games, feel free to leave them in the comments.
