Media Menu: Creighton vs. Wichita State

The Creighton Bluejays come back home to the friendly confines of the Qwest Center for their first matchup of the season with the Wichita State Shockers. Both teams are tied for second place in the Valley and chasing Missouri State. The Bears beat both CU and WSU in their respective home buildings.

Speaking of which, the Qwest Center should be rocking this evening. There’s a white out going on in Omaha, as the city is still shoveling itself out of the year’s first major storm. There’s a White Out inside the Qwest tonight, too. And if you show up early for tonight’s 7 p.m. game, you can snag $1 beers and sodas by the Bud Bar until tip-off.

But we at WBR understand that many of our readers can’t make it to the games in Omaha. Below are the options for tracking Wednesday’s 7 p.m. game against Wichita State.

Television

The Bluejays will be on local TV for this game in both team’s regions.

In Nebraska, this game will be broadcast by KMTV, otherwise known as Action 3 News. Travis Justice and former Creighton sharpshooter Nick Bahe will be on the call for this one.

  • In the Omaha area, the game will be available on Cox Cable channels 5 and 705. But there will not be any high definition cameras in use.
  • In other parts of Nebraska, stretching from York to Lincoln and in the southeast part of the state, the game will be on Time Warner Cable channel 3.
  • If you have one of those old big satellites that you can get a picture by plugging in coordinates, here is what you will need to know: Galaxy 16 10G Digital, U/L – 14210.375 H, D/L – 11915.6 V

Throughout Kansas, Wichita State will have its own TV crew covering the game. It will be broadcast on Kansas Now 22, which is available on cable to all customers in Cox Communications’ fiber systems in Kansas including Wichita and Topeka.

Online

There are several ways to follow the game via the Internet:

Radio

If you find yourself traversing the greater Midwest — specifically, the eastern part of Nebraska, Iowa, and even into Missouri — you can pick up T. Scott Marr’s play-by-play along with former Bluejay Brody Deren on Big Sports 590 AM.

For a different perspective of the game, you can catch the Wichita State broadcast of the game on KNSS 1330 AM around the greater Wichita area.
