Creighton Open House Scheduled for Sunday

We’re still a week or so away from the first Creighton fall sports action (women’s soccer exhibition on 8/16), but Sunday marks an event for Jays fans of all ages.

From 3:00-6:00 p.m. on August 9, the good folks in the Creighton athletic department are hosting an open house for the Ryan Athletic Center and D.J. Sokol Arena. But this promises to be a bit more exciting than the typical real estate open house (don’t touch anything!). For one, Morrison Stadium is going to be open, too. The details:

Sneak a Peek at Another Great Addition to Creighton’s Campus.

The Ryan Center and Sokol Arena look fantastic. Don’t believe me? Come see for yourself. Crews have been working around the clock to ready the building for the fall sports season. The paint is fresh. The bricks are beautiful. And the Seal of the Society of Jesus adorns the south side of the building.

Select Your Seat for Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball.

Seats not yet sold as season tickets for men’s and women’s soccer will be available for purchase at Morrison Stadium. Same goes for women’s basketball and volleyball seats at Sokol Arena.

Bounce Around the Inflatable Carnival on Campus.

That’s right. This open house features inflatable carnival apparatus (sounds a bit too technical, right?). The National Association of Realtors should take some notes: if all open houses featured carnivals, maybe more people would buy houses.

Autographs. Lots and Lots of Autographs.

It is time to meet your 2009-2010 soccer, volleyball, and women’s hoops players! According to GoCreighton.com, the student-athletes will be available for signatures and snapshots during the following times:

  • 3:20 – 3:40 p.m.: Women’s Basketball
  • 3:40 – 4:00 p.m.: Volleyball
  • 4:00 – 4:20 p.m.: Men’s Soccer
  • 4:20 – 4:40 p.m.: Women’s Soccer

Did I mention all of this is free to the public?! Sounds like a nice way to spend a lazy Sunday.

CU THERE.
