The #10 Creighton men’s basketball team hit the road for their first true road game of the season, taking on Nebraska on Wednesday night.  The Bluejays broke open the vault and took the winnings home as they defeated the Huskers 77-62 and moved to 9-0 on the season.

The Bluejays looked like they were going to run away with the game early in the first half when they raced out to an 18-4 lead.  Nebraska bounced back and gradually caught up to the Jays right before halftime.  Creighton took a 31-30 lead into the half.

In the second half, Creighton jumped out again against Nebraska behind Marcus Foster scoring 6 of the first 8 points of the half after saddled in the first half with two fouls.  That set the tone for the rest of the game as Creighton held Nebraska for over six minutes without scoring and jumped out to a 51-39 lead.  Maurice Watson, Jr. led the charge scoring a game high 25 points and dishing out eight assists.  Toby Hegner came off the bench and came up with critical rebounds down the stretch and put away dunks on two consecutive possessions to basically put the game out of reach.  Hegner finished with 8 points and 10 rebounds.
