The Creighton men’s basketball team only lost one Senior day game in the past 20 years and that loss came when there were no seniors on the team. Unfortunately for the seven seniors on the roster in 2014-15, senior day ended in defeat against Xavier, 74-73.
Devin Brooks tipped in a shot to give the Bluejays a 73-72 lead off a tip-in with 7.9 seconds left. However, in the frenzy of the ensuing possession by Xavier, Dee Davis was fouled by the Jays and calmly sank both free throws with 6.3 seconds remaining. Creighton got down the court for a final shot, but Austin Chatman’s three at the buzzer went off the front rim.
