Photo Gallery: Creighton Wins Afternoon Tilt Over UNO

After losing two games over the weekend to Xavier, the Bluejays needed to get back on the winning track before the final series against St. John’s at the end of this week.  They were able to do that in gutting out a 2-1 win over crosstown foe Omaha at TD Ameritrade Park on “Kid’s Day.”

Austin Groth came up big with five strong innings while a controversial play at first in the bottom of the 4th proved to be the source towards the game winning run.  Kevin Connolly reached first base beating out a bunt to load the bases with no outs.  The next batter, Michael Emodi, hit into a double-play  that allowed Matt Gandy to score instead of ending the inning giving the Bluejays the lead and eventually the victory.
