In 2009, Bruce Erickson’s Creighton women’s soccer team started the season with a double overtime 0-0 draw at home against Iowa State. This season, Erickson’s squad saw the same result in the season opener: a scoreless draw at Morrison Stadium, this time against South Dakota State.
The Jackrabbits outshot the Bluejays 15-11, and 6-3 in shots on goal. Goalkeepers Alicia Montgomery and Katie Jo Swanson combined for a shutout effort, but the offense couldn’t put points on the board in support.
