Recap: Omaha Summer Basketball League (7/12/12)

Thursday night was the last night of pool play at the Metro Summer League.  With teams battling for seeds, here is how the action went down:

Andy’s Lawn & Landscape 73, Wissing 63:

Wissing can’t get a win, falling to 0-5 on the season.  John Turek had 24, Jaosn Dourisseau chips in 20, and Isaacson adds 17.  Also Morales and Todd Klosterman had 15 each in one of the lower scoring games of the evening.

PJ Morgan 75, Construction Zone 61:

UNO Junior Matt Hagerbaumer contributes 21 on way to a PJ Morgan victory.  He had a little help from Mitch Albers (15) and Jeff Martin (12). They were too much for the Construction Zone would managed just 61 points.

EQ School of Hair Design 97,  Zurlo’s 84:

Player of the night goes to Midland’s James Parrott poured in 47 and good for the new league record!  Ryan Moore had 22 for Zurlo’s in a losing effort.

Bank of Nebraska 79, Bellevue University 61:

After scoring 111 on Tuesday, Bank of Nebraska managed just 79 while going 2-0 on the week.  The two mean of Klaye Rowe and Wes Wilkinson dominated again and were too much for Bellevue.  Rowe had 24 to lead Bank of Nebraska and Wilkinson’s 21 was not too far behind.

HCMC 85, Thompson Basketball Camp 71:

Geoff Groselle managed just 10 points in a losing effort.  Leading scorers for the game were Creighton’s Avery Dingman with 25 and Tanner Miller with 23.  Thompson scores just 71 points after a hot night scoring 105 on Tuesday.

Judd Knispel Agency 82, Paragas  Law Offices 78:

JK Agency follows up with their first win on Monday with another with on Thursday.  Creighton players past and present lead the way.  Austin Chatman scored 15 and contributed several assists while Nate Funk scored 23.  Josh Jones ends the night with 22 points in a losing effort.

Narmi Group @ SmithBarney 101, Shanks Law Firm 97:

Creighton Taylor contribute 4 3-point field goals on his way to 16 points.  John Karhoff finished the night with 22.  Narmi Group @ SmithBarney completes a 2-0 week.

Higgins Weatherguard 73, ABIDE  70:

ABIDE, still looking for their first win, were denied again on Thursday.  Jordan Yurth had 17, including 3 3-point FG’s.  Trey Moore finished with 6 3-pt FG’s on his way to 24 points.

UNO Alumni 118, Chris Carder  Agency 86:

UNO Alumno light up the scoreboard and put up a league high on Thursday of 118 points  Brody Deren was unstoppable inside and finishes with 24. Andrew Bridger finished with 26 while keeping his teammates involved with several assists throughout the game.

Walentine O’Toole McQuillan & Gordob 74, Vanderslice 73  2 OT:

The closes game of the night went 2 overtimes.  WOMG outlasted Vanderslice in a low scoring game, at least by Omaha Summery Basketball League Standards.  WOMG needed every one of Ethan Wragge’s 24 points in this victory.  Matt Dowart finished the game and Creighton freshman Nevin Johnson had 14.
