January 5, 1995 — Dana Altman’s Bluejays beat Indiana State 70-63, giving Altman his first Missouri Valley Conference win at Creighton.

Tad Ackerman made 4 3-pointers and scored 16 points, Randall Crutcher added 14 points and 8 rebounds, and Troy Wharton chipped in 13 points to lead the Bluejays to Altman’s first MVC victory as Creighton head coach.

Altman entered the 2009-2010 season with 192 MVC wins while at CU (he also beat Wichita State three times while head coach at Kansas State), against 103 losses (against teams currently in the MVC). Altman’s Creighton teams have had the most success against Indiana State and Missouri State, beating those teams 24 times each. Altman entered the 2009-2010 season with a winning record against every team in the Missouri Valley Conference, using two wins against SIU last season to bring a 17-16 record into this season against the Salukis.
