March 27, 2005 — Creighton’s softball team takes a series from Illinois State and starts one of the longest winning streaks in school history in the process.
The Bluejays posted a 3-0 win at home against the Redbirds, taking two of three games during the MVC series. The Jays wouldn’t lose for almost a month, reeling off 17 consecutive wins in the process. The win streak stands as the fourth longest in CU history and is the longest streak since the Jays won 20 straight in 2004.
The 2005 season saw the Bluejays winning the Valley but losing two heartbreaking extra-inning games in the NCAA Tournament.
