Today in Bluejay History (3/28)

March 28, 2009 — The Bluejays pull out all the stops in a home game against Southern Illinois.

After taking the first game of a doubleheader by a 4-3 score, the Creighton baseball team had a chance to sweep the twin bill but needed to get out of a bad situation in the 9th inning of the second game.

After a Saluki hit advanced runners into scoring position, Vicente Cafaro pulled off the hidden ball trick and duped an SIU baserunner into leading off second base and making the final out of the game.

The Bluejays would sweep the weekend series with the Salukis the next day, posting a 10-0 shutout at the CU Sports Complex.
