Today in Bluejay History (4/24)

April 24, 2002 — Creighton loses to Kansas State 24-9, marking one of the worst defeats in recent Bluejays history.

The two-dozen runs surrendered by CU pitchers against K-State marked the second-most opponent runs scored in one game in the history of the program. The Wildcats’ rivals, the Kansas Jayhawks, hold that dubious record (28 runs against CU in May 1996).

Ryan Baldwin had 9 RBI for the Wildcats, marking the last time (heading into 2009-2010) a CU opponent had 6 or more RBI in one game.
