May 24, 1991 — Creighton defeats Pepperdine in the first game of the NCAA West I Regional, ahead of the Bluejays’ first trip to the College World Series.
Creighton beat the Waves 5-3 at USC, and then would beat Minnesota, USC, and Hawaii to advance to the CWS back in Omaha.
