Today in Bluejay History (5/4)

May 4, 1996 — Creighton’s softball team plays four games against two teams in one day.

According to the 2010 Creighton Softball Media Guide, the Bluejays beat Bradley 8-6 and 8-6, then lost to Evansville 5-1. So, CU and UE had to matchup again, with the Jays coming out on top 5-2. That set the stage for Creighton’s two games against Illinois State the next day, both of which the Bluejays dropped (4-2 and 7-4).

The Jays finished 6-12 in the MVC under Brent Vigness, who would flip the conference record around the next season and lead CU to a 10-4 Valley mark.
