May 6, 2005 — The Northern Iowa Panthers pounce all over Creighton’s pitching staff.
The Bluejays hosted UNI and made the Panthers’ hitters feel right at home. UNI posted 23 hits against CU, the third-highest total in Creighton baseball history, en route to a 17-7 win. Creighton actually lost the weekend series to UNI, but bounced back the next game to defeat #3 Nebraska.
Northern Iowa actually has two of the three highest single-game hit totals for a Creighton opponent: the Panthers raked 24 hits against the Jays on April 20, 2003.
