August 13, 2008 — The Omaha World-Herald reports that Kirsten Bernthal Booth’s women’s volleyball program has received commitments from two high school stars, Lisa Greisch of Omaha and Brooke Boggs of Wildwood, Missouri.

It is a year later now, and Greisch and Boggs are preparing for their first season of collegiate volleyball. Boggs comes to Creighton from suburban St. Louis, where she was first-team all-state as a senior. And according to the expertly crafted 2009 Creighton Volleyball media guide, she’s the first volleyball player to attend CU from the Show Me State since the program’s 1994 reinstatement.

Greisch comes to Creighton from local power Omaha Marian High School, where she accrued first-team all-Class A and third-team all-state honors from the OWH as a senior. Not only did Greisch and her Crusader high school teammates don white and blue as school colors, but her parents went to Creighton (her dad Jim played golf for CU) and one of her sisters is currently at the school.

And if #3 looks familiar to Jays volleyball fans this season, you’re not seeing things. Lisa Greisch will wear #3 just like her older sister, Emily, who was a third-team Academic All-American for CU in 2006..
