{"id":3136,"date":"2022-07-03T21:07:14","date_gmt":"2022-07-03T21:07:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/whiteandbluereview.com\/dev\/?p=3136"},"modified":"2022-07-05T21:09:31","modified_gmt":"2022-07-05T21:09:31","slug":"the-basketball-tournament-tbt-comes-to-omaha-join-the-bracket-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whiteandbluereview.com\/dev\/the-basketball-tournament-tbt-comes-to-omaha-join-the-bracket-challenge\/","title":{"rendered":"The Basketball Tournament (TBT) Comes To Omaha \u2013 Join the Bracket Challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thetournament.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Basketball Tournament (TBT)<\/a> is one of the more exciting basketball events happening during the summer.\u00a0 This event brings together some great basketball talent.\u00a0 One of the unique things about this event is that it brings back together some college legends and alumni, forming teams that essentially represents their alma mater or even their state.\u00a0 Last summer, Creighton had their first entry into the The Tournament with the Omaha Blue Crew that included some Creighton alumni, like Jahenns Manigat, as well as players that may have been from the state Nebraska like Deverell Biggs.<\/p>\n<p>The Omaha Blue Crew had a dramatic Elam Ending victory in the first round last summer on Biggs draining the winner from 3.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-container\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A moment he\u2019ll cherish forever. \ud83d\ude4f<\/p>\n<p>Deverell Biggs just etched his name into Elam Ending history. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OmahaBlueCrew?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@OmahaBlueCrew<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/JJpXhjBIgS\">pic.twitter.com\/JJpXhjBIgS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; TBT (@thetournament) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/thetournament\/status\/1416162633632428040?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 16, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p>Similarly, the Blue Crew exited the tournament in a similar fashion as the Aftershocks, made up of mainly Wichita State alumni, came from behind in front of a home crowd at Koch Arena to get the win.<\/p>\n<p>Once again the Omaha Blue Crew joins the TBT with an <a href=\"https:\/\/thetournament.com\/teams\/omaha-blue-crew-creighton-alumni\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">enhanced roster<\/a> promoting even more Creighton alumni.\u00a0 Justin Patton, Marcus Foster, Manny Suarez, and Ronnie Harrell are some of the new editions to this year\u2019s squad.\u00a0 Doug McDermott is an assistant coach for the team.\u00a0 Biggs is expected to be back as well as the addition of Omaha native Tre\u2019Shawn Thurman. \u00a0 Even more excitement entails with the potential for the Blue Crew to have their own home court advantage for this summer\u2019s squad.<\/p>\n<p>Each region has a host site for the early rounds.\u00a0 This summer, DJ Sokol Arena, on the Creighton University campus, is one of the host sites for the TBT.\u00a0 Sokol Arena can get pretty loud if you have ever been to any Creighton Volleyball or Woman\u2019s Basketball games.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/am.ticketmaster.com\/creighton\/buy?filterType=13\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fans can still get tickets for the TBT<\/a> and cheer on their team July 16-19.
