Darian Harris (#15 / G / 6-6 / 195 lbs / Fr.)

Shortly after Toby Hegner committed to Creighton in June 2012, Darian Harris pledged to Greg McDermott and the Bluejays. Like Hegner, Harris was fresh off a junior season spent posting impressive statistics.

The 6-6 guard scored 23 points per game and added nearly 8 rebounds and 6 assists. A season before, as a sophomore, Harris had cracked Arkansas’s All-State team after posting average of 18 points and 6 rebounds a game.

Between committing to Creighton and arriving at the Hilltop, Harris averaged 23 points, 10 rebounds, and nearly 4 blocks per game as a senior. He left Shiloh Christian High School as the program’s all-time leading scorer. His teams won conference titles during his sophomore and junior seasons, and his AAU team Arkansas Wings Elite claimed a championship the summer after his junior season.

Time will tell if Harris can earn minutes in a crowded backcourt or on the wing this year. But his size, his ability to handle the ball, and the impending challenge posed by Big East backcourts that are bigger and more versatile than their typical Missouri Valley Conference counterparts all could factor into how quickly Harris will see the court.
