If you remain one of those types of people who likes to look ahead more than an hour in time even as we wrap up the 11th month of the year 2020, there is an actual Creighton basketball game coming up this week (subject to change)! That’s right, the Bluejay women’s basketball team is as ready as they can possible be to open their season, and they are scheduled to do so on Wednesday, November 25 when former conference rival Drake brings its squad to Omaha for a 3:00 p.m. contest inside a mostly empty D.J. Sokol Arena.
Creighton is coming off of a season that saw them compile a 19-11 record through conference tournament play before the remainder of the postseason was halted due to the COVID-19 outbreak that spread throughout not only the United States, but the entire world. As he prepares to embark on his 19th and most uniquely challenging season leading the Jays, head coach Jim Flanery hopped on the Bluejay Beat Podcast to give an update on how the team has handled the increased medical scrutiny on campus and break down the roster from the most experienced senior to the newest freshman.
