White and Blue Review has confirmed that 2014 point guard Nick Norton from Columbia, Missouri has verbally committed to Creighton. Norton leads the very talented 16U KC Run GMC squad that visited Creighton just last weekend. Creighton is also heavily recruiting fellow 16U KC Run GMC’ers Ezra Talbert, Khadre Lane, and Tyrone Taylor.
Norton’s game is very similar to past Bluejay guards Josh Dotzler, Tyler McKinney and Ryan Sears in that he is a pass-first point guard who continually puts his teammates in position to score. He is almost always on the right end of 50-50 plays and has excellent court vision. Bottom line, he makes his teammates look good!
Norton boasts great bloodlines, coming from the talented Rock Bridge high school program in Missouri which produced current Cal Bear Ricky Kreklow, former Toledo Rocket Jordan Dressler, future Missouri point Travis Jorgenson and talented guards Justin Miller and Matt Kelly.
Norton received his first and only offer from Creighton just last week. He came to the conclusion that Creighton was the school for him less than a week after his visit, a growing trend with this staff’s recruits. Nebraska, Arkansas, Missouri, Missouri State, and San Fransisco were also heavily involved.
Creighton still has one open spot for the 2013 class and two scholarships open for the 2014 class following the additions of Toby Hegner, Darian Harris, and Nick Norton.
