It wasn’t pretty. But a win’s a win. And the Creighton Bluejays notched another victory — their eighth in nine games — Sunday afternoon, overcoming missed free throws down the stretch to outlast Seton Hall 72-71.
Doug McDermott scored 29 points and moved into 10th on the NCAA Division I all-time scoring list. But uncharacteristic missed at the charity stripe by McDermott and Ethan Wragge gave the Pirates a few last gasps of life. But the Jays forced a bad shot as the clock ran out, and Seton Hall’s desperation three-point attempt was far off the mark.
