Bluejay Banter Bracketology (3/1/10)

College basketball fans are just a few weeks away from the NCAA Tournament Selection Show. Between now and then, many fans will play the role of bracketologist. Tim Krueger, co-host of the Bluejay Banter radio show, is one such fan. Krueger has conducted his own bracket projections for years, even before ESPN’s Joe Lunardi gave such a practice the term Bracketology. Lunardi even praised Krueger’s efforts as a guest on Banter.

Each Monday leading up to Selection Sunday, Krueger will provide White & Blue Review his updated bracket predictions. Bluejay Banter can be heard every Monday from 5-6PM on Big Sports 590 AM, with podcasts of the show available via www.BigSports590.com.

Krueger’s Notes About the Bracket:

The bottom of this week’s bracket finds about 5 teams making the field that probably do not deserve admission. But, someone has to get in, right?

Several teams had a chance to cement their positions but lost this week. Others could not get off the bubble with a win.

One significant change finds Mississippi State moving into the field replacing Arizona State after the Sun Devils’ terrible second half against Cal on Saturday.

At the top, Purdue moves down to a #2 seed after losing to Michigan State and losing Hummel for the year. They could finish as a #3 seed by the time the ink is dry.

Last four in: Mississippi State, Rhode Island, Saint Mary’s, Dayton

Last four out: Arizona State, Notre Dame, San Diego State, Charlotte

Next four out: UConn, Ole Miss, Minnesota, Washington
