The Creighton men’s basketball team continued their build up to the showdown against Kansas next Tuesday by rolling over Kennesaw St. on Friday 93-58.  The Jays had six players in double figures.

Freshman Ryan Kalkbrenner came off the bench early in the first half and continued to showcase Creighton’s rising frontcourt to lead the way for the Bluejays with 14 points going 7-of-8 from the field.  Marcus Zegarowski also had 14 points, while Damien Jefferson, Christian Bishop, Shereef Mitchell, and Mitch Ballock also cracked double-figures for the Jays.  Antwann Jones chipped in 9 points.

After getting off to a slow start in the first five minutes of the game, inserting Kalkbrenner and Jones caused Creighton’s offense and defense come to life where an 8-8 game all of a sudden went to a 38-16 lead over the next 10 minutes.  The game got out of reach quickly and the Jays coasted from there.

WBR’s Matt DeMarinis and Ravi Lulla from 1620 the Zone and Bluejay Shootaround, get together after the game to talk about the Bluejays and where they are at right now after the first three games, and then get into the excitement of the game in Lawrence for a Top 10 matchup with Kansas on Tuesday.

Take a listen and have a great weekend:
