Creighton Adds Darian Harris

Since Coach McDermott has taken over on the Hilltop he and his staff have been able to construct a team that could pass Digger’s “Airport Test.” The addition of both 6’10” Toby Hegner to the front court, and now 6’6” Darian Harris on the wing, gives the Jays great size going forward.

The Arkansas Wings Elite guard Darian Harris is able to handle the ball while also possessing deep range. He is able to see over smaller defenders to find lanes and spaces for his teammates. Harris is good defender using his long arms and lateral quickness allowing him to guard both back and front court players. Harris was deployed as a point guard early in his high school career, but a growth spurt of nearly 4” has allowed him to shift over to the combo guard position. He is also an excellent student, boasting a 3.5 GPA.

Harris chose Creighton over offers from Oral Roberts, Richmond, Tulsa, Missouri State, Yale, San Fransisco, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Lehigh amongst others.

Like Hegner, Harris was seen as one of the most impressive players at the recent Creighton team camp.
