Creighton adds former Georgia State signee Jalen Windham to 2019 recruiting class

Despite expecting to have most of its major contributors returning Creighton isn’t finished with its pursuit of players to add for the upcoming 2019-20 season. On Wednesday they found another piece when former Georgia State signee Jalen Windham announced during his official visit to Omaha that he is on board with the Bluejays.

The 6-foot-5 off guard originally committed and signed to play for Georgia State out of Ben Davis High School in Indiana, but was released from his letter of intent after head coach Ron Hunter moved on to lead the program at Tulane. Rated as a composite three-star prospect by 247sports, Windham averaged 8.5 points and knocked down 31 of his 67 attempts (46.3%) from 3-point territory in 16 games on the Nike EYBL circuit last summer. Of all the players on the circuit who attempted at least 50 3-point field goals, Windham’s 3-point percentage ranked second.

Windham averaged 17.7 points per game and shot 37.0% from three during his senior year at Ben Davis. Along with CU, he was reportedly drawing interest from Indiana, Illinois State, and Tulane after reopening his recruitment. He joins former Omaha Burke standout Shereef Mitchell, who spent this past season at Sunrise Christian Academy (a prep school located in Bel Aire, Kansas), on Creighton’s incoming freshman recruiting class for the 2019-20 season.

An interview with Jalen Windham will be added later, so stay tuned.
