Michigan took advantage of a three-run third inning to get the early lead and then held on for a 5-3 victory over Texas Tech in the opening game of the 2019 College World Series on Saturday.
The Wolverines started off early with a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning and then took advantage of a Jimmy Kerr triple to extend their lead in the third. After Texas Tech homered in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to 4-2 and then 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth, Michigan got an insurance run in the seventh and the bullpen closed the door to seal the victory.
WBR Photographers Brad Williams and Ken Juszyk were there co capture the action. See the slideshows below and then head over to the WBR Photo Store to order your prints. We will have photos throughout the College World Series.
