UPDATED: Pat Venditte Segment on ESPN’s “E:60”

The merits of ESPN’s hard-hitting investigative news program E:60 can be debated. I, personally, have caught just a handful of segments (one of which was a pretty entertaining piece on hockey great Alex Ovechkin). But I’ll be tuning in Tuesday, August 18, and if you’re a Jays fan you probably should, too.

That’s when the nationally televised news program will feature Creighton graduate and ambidextrous minor league pitcher Pat Venditte. According to the good folks at GoCreighton.com, Venditte’s efforts to rise through the New York Yankee farm system (which included a recent promotion to Class A Tampa) will be chronicled for about 8-12 minutes.

Updated: Below is the E:60 segment on Venditte.

Oh, and Venditte is on Yankees manager Joe Girardi’s radar. When asked about the state of his bullpen after a taxing couple of games last week, the New York Post reported:

“We could use the guy in A-ball who throws with both hands,” Girardi said of Pat Venditte, who pitches for Tampa where he is 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA in a dozen games after going 2-2 with a 1.47 ERA in 28 games for Charleston (Single-A).
