MVC Freshman of the Year Brittney Neumann Leads CU into the MVC Semis

The Creighton women’s soccer team continues its season Friday night in the semifinals of the MVC Tournament. Home field advantage belongs to the Bluejays, even though they didn’t finish #1 in the league: all of this weekend’s action will take place in balmy Omaha at Morrison Stadium. The Bluejays host #2 seed Missouri State in the second semifinal match of the day. The last trip the Bears made to Morrison Stadium was a less than enjoyable visit, as Creighton was able to knock off the Bears 3-0 on October 3.

Coming off their victory in the opening round over Evansville (1-0), the Bluejays will look to continue to use their home field advantage as they play Missouri State. With the victory over the Purple Aces, Creighton was able to move their home record to 7-2-2, including a conference record of 3-0-1.  The last loss at Morrison Stadium for Creighton was a September 18 non-conference match against Arizona Sate.

MSU ended Creighton’s season last year in the first round of the MVC Tournament. In Omaha. At Morrison Stadium. I would imagine that match will serve as motivation to take care of business at home, and I like the Bluejays to take care of business tonight in front of a boisterous crowd. Catch all the action at 6 p.m. at Morrison Stadium.
