The BracketBuster concept was a good idea in the beginning. It made for some intriguing matchups between schools that were on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament on a consistent basis. Creighton has had some interesting matchups, but some not so interesting.
This year, the Bluejays head to Akron to take on the Zips, who are very similar to Creighton with a 16-10 overall record and a 7-5 conference record. Akron however is on a roll winning five of their last six including a thrashing of Bowling Green on Tuesday.
The only time these two teams have met were when the Bluejays hosted the Zips in an NIT first round matchup a few years ago and Creighton walked away with victory. Akron, I am sure, is excited for the rematch at their house.
Most of us won’t make the trip to Akron, but that is okay. We have a list of options to follow along with the 6:05 p.m. game Saturday.
