Fans complain all the time that Creighton cannot get top name teams to come and play at the Qwest Center. Well, on Wednesday night, those naysayers can hold their tongues for a bit. Thanks in part to the Missouri Valley and Mountain West conferences, the #23 BYU Cougars come to Omaha as part of the MVC-MWC Challenge.
Creighton is 2-1 against Top 25 competition since moving to the Qwest Center in 2003, but 1-0 against ranked foes from outside the Valley. The Jays are 11-30 all-time against ranked opponents at home. Can the Bluejays claim a win that would no doubt be among the Valley’s best before conference play begins?
BYU is a solid team, and the Cougars feature arguably the best player Creighton will see all season — All-American Jimmer Fredette. Make sure you’re in the building for this top non-conference matchup.
But if you can’t be there, we’ve got you covered. White & Blue Review has your media menu options for Wednesday’s 7 p.m. game against BYU.
Television
The Bluejays will be on local TV for the first time this season. This game will be broadcast by KMTV, otherwise known as Action 3 News. Travis Justice and former Creighton great Nick Bahe will be on the call for this one.
- In the Omaha area, the game will be available on Cox Cable channels 5 and 705. But there will not be any high definition cameras in use.
- In other parts of Nebraska, stretching from York to Lincoln and in the southeast part of the state, the game will be on Time Warner Cable channel 3.
- Originally, the game was to be available nationwide on ESPN Full Court and ESPN3.com, but those plans were changed earlier in the week. The game will not be available on these platforms.
- If you have the old style satellite dishes that can pick up signals based on coordinates, you are out of luck there as well.
