The Creighton women’s basketball team is headed to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2002. Winning the MVC automatic bid earned the #14 seeded Bluejays a date with #3 seeded St. John’s on Sunday in Norman, Oklahoma.
This weekend will see CU fans headed in several different directions for March Madness — the CenturyLink Center for the NCAA Tournament, Greensboro for the Creighton men’s basketball game, and Norman for the women’s basketball game. If you aren’t one of the lucky ones to follow the women for the 4:05 p.m. tip, then here are the ways you can follow the game.
Television:
The game will be televised on ESPN2 with home market protection, meaning the Omaha area will see the game in it’s entirety on ESPN2. Other areas across the nation may see a different game and/or “whip-around” coverage. Marc Kestecher and Kayte Christensen will be on the call.
- In Omaha on Cox Communications cable system it is on digital channel 30 or in HD on channel 1030. You will have to check with your local cable provider to see if you get ESPN2, but it is almost likely you have it in your basic cable package.
- On DirecTV, it is on channel 209.
- On Dish Network, you can find the games on channel 144.
- For those not in the home market area, it is possible the game will not be on ESPN2 in your area. If you have access to the ESPN Full Court package, then the game will be on one of those channels.
Online:
There are several ways to follow the game on the Internet:
- You can watch the ESPN3 broadcast streaming live on your PC or XBox 360 through ESPN3.com if your Internet provider carries this access. All of the major cable companies (Cox, Time Warner, Charter) carry ESPN3.com on their Internet service. Here are a list of otherhigh speed Internet and video providers that carry ESPN3.
- You can also access ESPN3 through your Android, IPad or iPhone with the Watch ESPN app. However, that is limited to those with Bright House, Verizon FiOsTV, Verizon high speed Internet and Time Warner subscribers.
- Keep track with Live Stats.
- Follow the tweets of GoCreighton for score updates.
- Listen to the streaming audio of the broadcast from 1180 KOIL AM.
Radio:
In the Omaha area you can hear the game on KOIL 1180 AM with Brad Burwell doing the play-by-play.
