100-ish Words About Seton Hall
This season’s been one of streaks for Seton Hall. After starting the season 1-8, including three losses to nationally ranked North Carolina in the season’s opening weekend, the Pirates went 15-2 from March 10 through April 8. That hot stretch included a road sweep at Xavier in their first Big East series. But the Pirates have come back to earth a bit since, including losing back to back Big East series against St. John’s and Butler. Seton Hall is 4-8 in the last 12 games with the first-place Bluejays coming to town looking to add to their 3-1 all-time record against the Pirates.
The Bluejays, by the Numbers
- Record: 25-13 (8-3 Big East)
- RPI: 63 (c/o www.ncaa.com)
Last Time Out
Creighton went to Indianapolis looking to bury a struggling Butler baseball team. The Jays couldn’t manage the sweep, losing a 7-inning game 2-1 that started at 9 a.m. CT Sunday after being rained out Saturday. But the Bluejays bookended that disappointing loss with wins Friday and Sunday afternoon, leaving them tied atop the Big East standings with St. John’s.
Mid-week, Ed Servais’ team once again coughed up leads against Nebraska en route to suffering a 7-6 loss and a series sweep at the hands of the Huskers. (PHOTOS HERE)
The next night the Bluejays bounced back with an 8-5 win over South Dakota State in Sioux City, Iowa.
