The crowd was electric. The biggest crowd ever to watch an NCAA volleyball regular season game. Creighton goes up 2-0. The stage was set. However, you can never count out the reigning National Champs as Nebraska overcame the two game deficit to defeat the Bluejays at CHI Health Center Omaha 22-25, 19-25, 25-18, 25-22 and 15-10.
Taryn Kloth and the Bluejays were on fire through the first two games to take the 2-0 lead into the break. However, Nebraska is known to come back from those deficits and it was a battle to the end. Kloth ended the night with a career high 26 kills while Jaali Winters provided a double-double for the Jays. Volleyball was on display in the state and the match on Thursday night proved that this matchup needs to happen every year.
The road doesn’t get easier for the Bluejays as Iowa State comes to town on Friday night. They will look to take that as an opportunity to bounce back.
WBR had two photographers out at CHI Health Center Omaha for the exciting evening. Mike Spomer and Brad Williams were all over the “ER” to get photos from the game. Go over to the WBR photo store to purchase your favorites of Mike’s and Brad’s photos and enjoy the slideshow galleries below.
