The Creighton Baseball team had a successful and thrilling weekend against three different teams as a part of the TD Ameritrade Park Classic. They went 2-1 with victories over Nebraska and Rutgers on Friday and Saturday and lost a close one on Sunday against Oklahoma State.
On Friday night, the Bluejays jumped out to an early 2-0 lead over Nebraska and eventually won it 5-3. Creighton ace Tommy Strunc pitched six strong innings against the Huskers and the bullpen was solid behind Mark Winkelman and Jake Peter. Peter struck out two of the three batters he faced in the ninth inning.

Creighton turned around on Saturday afternoon to get a thrilling victory over Rutgers. The Bluejays rallied down 2-1 in the bottom of the 9th with single from Jake Peter to drive in a run to tie the game an send it into extra innings. In the 11th, Reagan Fowler stepped up to the plate and drove in Brad McKewon for the winning run and a 3-2 victory.

Creighton finished the weekend against Oklahoma State. The Bluejays hung tough with the Cowboys, tying up the game 5-5 in the bottom of the 8th inning. But an unearned run in the 9th inning broke the tie and the Bluejays were unable to rally this time in the bottom of the 9th. They lost that one 6-5.
Creighton returns to TD Ameritrade Park on Tuesday night as they take on Kansas State. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.
