The Creighton men’s basketball team came into Tuesday night’s game against Buffalo a day after breaking into the AP Top 10. With the target on their back, the Bluejays were able to handle everything the Bulls gave them and came away with a 93-72 victory in front of over 16,000 fans at the CenturyLink Center Omaha.
Marcus Foster took over early in the second half to help the Bluejays start to pull away after only being up two points at the half. During one stretch, Foster scored 13 of 15 Creighton points and finished with a team high 22 points. Meanwhile, the Omaha connection of Justin Patton and Khyri Thomas both had double-doubles and combined for 39 points and 22 rebounds in the victory. Throw in 15 points and 8 assists from Maurice Watson, Jr., and those four Bluejays combined to outscore Buffalo on their own 76-72. It was a team victory.
