In their first mid-week match of the season, the third ranked Creighton Men’s Soccer team left Morrison Stadium wishing if they could have played longer. The Bluejays rallied back from a 1-0 and 2-1 deficit to send the match in to extra time, ending in a 2-2 tie. This was Creighton’s fourth straight match that went into the double overtime period.
Michigan State scored 13 minutes into the match to take an early 1-o lead. That fired up the Bluejays to return the favor eight minutes later to tie it at 1-1 with Marvin Iskra scoring the goal. After the half, the Spartans scored again early to take the 2-1 lead. Again, Creighton rallied quickly and Bruno Castro scored a goal off a header in under two minutes to tie the match 2-2. 47 minutes and two overtimes later, both teams walked off the field with no clear winner. The Bluejays are now 5-1-1 on the season.
