In the second of three pre-Missouri Valley Conference schedule warmup games before Christmas, the Creighton Bluejays tightened up the defense against Western Illinois and posted a 13-point win. Gregory Echenique led all scorers with 16 points, and he added a few more monster blocked shots against an overmatched Leathernecks team. The Jays turned the ball over just 7 times compared to 17 assists, with Antoine Young posting 5 assists and just 1 turnover.
