It was an eventful day in Omaha. One game for a chance to get a piece of the Big East regular season championship. Sprinkle in a couple seniors for senior day along with a crowd of over 18,500 fans and the Creighton men’s basketball team came away with a 77-60 victory over #8 Seton Hall.
Marcus Zegarowski led the way with 23 points, going 8-of-10 from the field and a perfect 5-of-5 from three to go along with 5 assists. Denzel Mahoney and Ty-Shon Alexander were also in double-figures with 16 and 15 points respectively. After a Christian Bishop 3-point play to tie the game at 50, the Jays went on to score on 12 of their final 13 possessions to finish with a 27-10 run against the Pirates to seal the victory. The celebration began as Creighton won their first Big East title since joining the league.
