Marcus Zegarowski set the tone for Creighton men’s basketball on Saturday, scoring 30 points, grabbing 9 rebounds, and dishing out 6 assists as the Bluejays routed Nebraska at CHI Health Center Omaha, 95-76.
The Bluejays put their foot on the gas early as they took a quick 18-2 lead in the first six minutes of the game. By the time Nebraska head coach Fred Hoiberg took his third timeout in the first half, the Jays were up 37-7 with just 6 minutes left in the first half. Nebraska was shooting under 12% at that point.
After the Jays took the 48-22 lead into the half, the Jays gave up a little more on the defensive side in the second half allowing 54 points. However, the Jays still kept the scoring going as Ty-Shon Alexander added in 22 points of his own during the game.
