The Creighton men’s basketball team finally returned to their home court. In their first home game since the 20 point win over Villanova on December 17th, the Bluejays got things started early, had career highs from several different players and had one of their best shooting nights of the season in an 87-64 win over St. John’s on Wednesday night.
On defense the Bluejays held the Red Storm’s best player, Julian Champagnie to 7-of-21 shooting including an almost scoreless first half as the Bluejays went into half with a 15 point lead. The Bluejays extended the lead to 30 midway through the second half and rolled. Alex O’Connell had a career high 28 points including 6-of-9 from three. Arthur Kaluma scored a career high of his own with 20 points, including 4-of-5 from three displaying what he can do. Ryan Hawkins and Trey Alexander had 13 and 11 points respectively to close out the Jays in double-figures.
