October 14, 2005 — Creighton’s women’s soccer team defeats Indiana State 2-1 in overtime.
Ivonne Valentine, currently a graduate assistant for Bruce Erickson, scored the game-winner against the Sycamores in the 99th minute of action. She finished 2005 as second team all-MVC and made the Valley all-tournament team.
The win against Indiana State was the third in a row that season and put the Bluejays at 3-1 in MVC play. They would finish the season 4-2-0 in conference, win the postseason Valley tournament, and make their second straight NCAA tournament.
