December 5, 1972 — Creighton beats Southern Illinois 90-70, in just the fifth meeting all-time between the two schools.

The rivalry between the Bluejays and Salukis stretches back only as far as 1970, with the schools playing just 81 games against one another coming into the 2009-2010 season.

Creighton owns a 45-36 series advantage, including a perfect 6-0 record against SIU in neutral court games.
