February 12, 2003 — #12 Creighton successfully navigates overtime without Kyle Korver en route to a 70-67 home win against Missouri State.
Then known as Southwest Missouri State, the Bears opened an 11-point halftime lead while holding Korver to just 3 points on 1-8 shooting. The MVC Player of the Year would bounce back with a terrific second 20 minutes, leading the Jays with 13 second-half points. Still, Korver committed 4 personal fouls in the second stanza and fouled out with 32 seconds to play.
In those last 30 seconds of regulation, Missouri State’s Tamarr Maclin got a layup to go to send the game to overtime. But the Bluejays pulled out the close game during extra time, in front of the school’s third consecutive sellout.
