March 12, 1992 — Creighton begins its run through the WAC Tournament with a win against New Mexico.

In the last of their two seasons in the WAC, Bruce Rasmussen’s Bluejays made the most of their final three conference games. At the WAC Tournament in Salt Lake City, the Jays beat New Mexico 89-50 in the quarterfinals, San Diego State 89-66 in the semifinals, and Utah 74-53 in the championship game.

Rasmussen’s Bluejays, which during the 91-92 season led the NCAA in field goal (.521) and 3-point field goal (.452) percentage, claimed the school’s first bid to the women’s NCAA Tournament.
