April 19, 2009 — Creighton beats a top 25 team and takes the weekend series.
The Bluejays softball team hosted just one ranked opponent in 2009 — #24 Southern Illinois. Creighton made the most of the opportunity, taking two of three games from the Salukis.
In the first game of the series, Tara Oltman threw a no-hitter against SIU as the Jays beat the Salukis 5-0. In the third and series-deciding game, Oltman retired the last 13 batters she faced and recorded another shutout win (3-0).
